Dutchman Rear Alloy Axle Shafts 1974-1979 FSJ's (Single Shaft)

Custom made replacement alloy axle shaft (left or right side) for Dana 44 Rear Axles. This axle shaft is constructed from 1541-H heat treated alloy or 4130 Chromoly Material, and is approximately 25% stronger than stock.  Note that the 4130 Chromoly is slightly more flexible than the 4140.  Fix the weak link in your rear axle with a new Dutchman axle shaft!

If you select to have the Bearings and Seals Installed via the pull-down menu, that means the bearings, seals, stop and mounting plate will all be installed for you.  This means you can unpack the shaft from the box and install it without having to do any additional work!

Access Holes Machined Into The Flange: this option has a hole that is machined into the flange of the axle shaft (outside part where the lug studs mount).  This option allows you to use a socket wrench to install the axle shaft into the axle housing tube, which is much easier than the original where you had to use a box-end / open-end wrench to install and saves a LOT of time.  Also, it allows you to use a torque wrench to properly torque the mounting bolts (something not previously available).  Note that this option does NOT weaken the material.
