This high-strength steel midplate sandwiches between the oil filter adapter and the timing cover. This will extend the life of your oil pump gears by giving them a rock hard surface for them to ride on (the timing cover is aluminum and will wear prematurely, which usually causes low oil pressure). Installation is easy: remove your oil filter adapter, clean the mating surfaces, install the new midplate and gaskets, reinstall the stock bolts and you are done!!
