Questions and Answers
What's that you say? You want Overdrive in your FSJ? Until now, that was a pipe-dream. But dream NO MORE! We now carry AMC Engine to GM Transmission adapters for FSJ's! Can you say 700-R4? I thought you could......can you also say TH350, TH400 and 4L60E? Great, now it's time to say SEND ME THAT PART! This will also work with the 4L80e (must use the torque converter with the TH350 pattern and, of course the controller).
**Note: works with AMC starters (note that some applications will use a different AMC starter, which will be noted in the instructions).
**Transmission Fitment Notes:
The electronically controlled early 4L60E and the 4L80E will require a separate, stand-alone transmission control unit
The 4L80E can be compatible with this kit, but must use a modified factory 4L80E torque converter that features the TH350 pads / bolt pattern for the provided flexplate (AMC flexplates do not have the diameter required for the large hole / pad pattern native to the factory 4L80E)
The later style 4L60E and 4L80e with the removable bellhousing / hex rear bolt pattern are not compatible for this conversion
The TH350 is the only candidate for 1972-1983 CJ5 Jeeps due to their length, and these Jeeps must not have excessive lifts
Will NOT work with 6L80e applications.
Q:
Will I need to change any other parts on a 1975 j 10 258 6 to install a 700r in my truck?Like the drive shaft or t case Will I need other adapters to keep my 4wd? Thanks

A:
You will need to either run a GM transfer case behind the 700r4, or we sell adapters if you want to use a Full Size Jeep transfer case behind the 700r4. Either way, you will need to modify your driveshafts (most local driveline shops will lengthen or shorten a shaft for around $125-$150 each including new joints and balancing).
