Questions and Answers
BJ's Off-Road 6-inch lift springs with u-bolts. Our Suspension System is All-Spring with NO BLOCKS! Impress your friends, clear more obstacles, and make your rig look like it SHOULD have from the factory! You'll be amazed at how comfortable the ride is and how much better your off-road performance will be!
Made by Deaver Spring here in the USA, this is perfect for someone who wants to put their Full-Size Jeep at the height the factory should have come with! These have been designed to lift your vehicle while still offering a very comfortable ride. The front springs have 9 leaves, and the rear has 6 leaves with two overloads. Stock shocks and brakelines will not work with this kit. Nylon pads are installed between leaves for a softer ride.
**Note: 5.5-6.5" of lift to be expected upon installation. Also, note that a very small percentage of Full Size Jeeps had the front spring hanger and shackle hangers closer together; this can cause the front 6" springs to pin the shackle forward. If this happens, you can either install a bumpstop forward of the front shackle, or you can install our extended front shackle available here:

Q:
With this lift kit how does it affect how the jeep rides compared to stock? Also do you have to worry about pinion angles and does it require you to lengthen the drive shafts. Can you run 33" tires without fender mods? Thanks in advance
Asked by:
Nathan
- 1/26/2016
A:
Any lift suspension will be slightly more stiff than the original suspension, as it is new versus old. Also, the springs have to be made with more arch to achieve the lift. But, once the kit is broken in and settled, it provides a comfortable ride. If you want the best ride quality, I would suggest selecting the Bilstein or Rancho RS9000x shocks as they are the two best. For pinion angle, that is handled by the centering pin location, and it orients it properly. No driveshaft extension is required. For the tire question, yes you can run a 33" at full flex with this kit on a Narrowtrack model, or a 35" at full flex with a Widetrack model, neither of which require modifying the fenders.

Q:
Does this kit still come with track bar relocation brackets? I have a 88 Grand Wagoneer
Asked by:
Billy
- 5/30/2016
A:
No, the track bar relocation brackets are for use with 2" to 4" lift kits. Above that, you will either have to fabricate your own brackets, or remove the track bars.

Q:
If I were to put on the heavy duty shackles which add one inch lift in conjunction with the 6 inch kit, would that give me a 7 inch lift total? I know that's only for the front, but would an inch block even the rear out? Thanks!
Asked by:
Scotty Anderson
- 8/19/2016
A:
Yes to both questions!

Q:
Is it normal for my leaf spring mounting holes to be shorter in length than the holes in the frame? Mine are short by 1-1/2". Do you have any instrucitons or can you point me to some directions on how to proceed? Even though I have a farily extensive automotive background, I've not done this before. Thanks for the help!
Asked by:
Creigh
- 4/2/2019
A:
Yes, you may need to use a 4x4 and a jack to compress the spring to reach the mounting holes.

That show was from back about 18 years ago, and a lot has changed during that time. For the items included on the kit, you can scroll down on the product page for a listing. The items in the pull down menus are options.

Q:
Why won’t this kit work for a 1974 jeep j10? 131” wheelbase
Asked by:
Jacob
- 8/16/2021
A:
74 and 75 were unique in that there were around 32 possible combinations of spring type, spring width, spring arch, mounting type, busing type and size, etc. As such, there is no way to guarantee that our kits will work without modifications. 76 and later were all standard, and our kits fit all of those.
