These gauges are easy to read, work correctly and is not hard to install. Easy to read: You can preset the backlighting (2 setting) one for day and one for night (when you turn your head light on) each one (day and night) have over 30 levels of lighting adjustment making any time using these gauges they have the correct lighting. Works correctly: The VHX gauges work perfectly. I had changed my stock gauges out with NOS and junk yard parts. Went to under dash mechanical gauges (hard to see, especially at night). The VHX gauges reads the same as my add on mechanical gauges. Is not hard to install: The VHX instructions are very clear. Here is an example: Remove your stock instrument panel (held on with 6 screws). Turn over your instrument panel remove the six screws holding the Gauge Cluster Circuit Board. I chose not to use the gauge bezels the VHX instruction are clear on an easy modification to do on the backside of the gauge bezels to allow the VHX gauge to sit flat. Then use the six new screws (comes with the VHX kit) and install the VHX gauge panel to your stock housing. It is really that easy. With the included senders (water, oil, speed) with a wiring harness for each sender and plenty of wiring to reach and hook up at the dash (I removed 3 feet to 4 feet from each harness or you could leave it) and still coiled some in the dash. On the fuel gauge the VHX instructions requires a ground wire run from the tank sending unit ground to the VHX gauges (you need to supply the ground wire and route it). You will need to add one full time 12-volt power wire and, a key on 12-volt power wire and a ground. When it comes to the wiring the VHX control box I used my 1977 Jeep wiring diagrams. The wiring diagram has a enlarge blow up of the back side of the plastic plug (this plug has a letter by each pin) that was removed from the stock circuit panel (The wiring diagram shows the plug pins wiring as pin A, pin B, pin C with the wiring number, color, and gauge of wire). I used a large piece of cardboard and a felt tip marker and listed each pins letter, with wire color and gauge and what it is wired to. I cut the wires one at a time and hooked them up to the control box. This is a sweet way to hook the wires up (two thumbs up to whoever come up with this). As all screws used to hook up the wires are in the open position (just strip the wire you’re installing about ¼ inch install in the labeled opening and tighten the screw Bob in Idaho
