Q:
need kits for DANA 44 2012 Jeep JK both sides.....what would I need to order ??
Asked by:
Tommy
- 12/20/2017
A:
You would need 2 kits (one kit does one rear side). It should be the same as your JK, but you will need to verify and provide the BOM to be sure.

Q:
Do these axle retainers have the smaller opening to keep the axle from coming all the way out of the housing and damaging the quarters?
Asked by:
Brennan
- 12/28/2018
A:
These have the backing plate that gets installed before the bearings, just like stock. If you have a bearing failure, the bearing super-heats and then slides off the axle shaft. At that point, there isn't anything that will hold the shaft into the vehicle. The best advice is to use quality components and Timken Bearings (that is what is in our kit) and inspect the bearings every 1-2 years for wear, proper lubrication, etc.

Q:
Is this a tapered roller bearing like the original or a flat roller bearing like some of the aftermarket? Do you sell the inner seal that goes in the outboard end of the axel tube... how do I order it? 1989 Grand Wagoneer with rear Dana 44, 3:51 gears.
Asked by:
Keith Ersfeld
- 8/14/2017
A:
They are tapered bearings. We do have an inner seal listed in our small parts section under axles. You simply add the desired items to your shopping cart, click View Cart and then proceed through checkout.

Q:
I am replacing seals and bearings on 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sport, DANA 44. What parts do I need to order to R&R both sides and do it correctly? Thanks
Asked by:
Erik
- 6/25/2018
A:
two of these kits should be sufficient. But, I would recommend emailing us the Bill Of Materials (BOM) number off the axle tube so we can verify the parts will work with your application.

Q:
I have an 86 Jeep CJ7 Dana 44 rear axle. Are these the correct bearings for my Jeep Axle? Thanks
Asked by:
Jeff
- 1/21/2019
A:
The bearings and seals are the same, but the retainer plate is different. We may be able to get the correct plate for the CJ application, simply email

I have a 73 Wagoneer with Dana 44 rear, the one piece (flanged I assume?) axle and 5 lug wheel. Is this kit the same one I would need? If not, are just the bearings the same? Thanks!
