It is the seal that sandwiches the bottom of the glass into the lifter channel, and holds the glass in place.

Q:
Hi, I just purchased this, can you tell me does the smooth side of the slot go inside, and sharp side out, or vice versa?
Asked by:
Jamie
- 9/13/2020
A:
The smooth, rounded side goes towards the outside of the door (the curve matches the door shell curvature). The two "sharp side" slots face inward.

Q:
My 1972 Wagoneer Limited (power windows) has was looks like these exact window lifts, yet you say these are for MANUAL windows only. This 1982 Wagoneer uses an arm to raise and lower the window and NOT the toothed nylon strap like later Grand Wagoneers. Im guessing this is correct ??
Asked by:
WILLIAM MATTHEWS
- 2/3/2021
A:
the angle of the bottom (where it attaches to the arms) is different

When installing these new lift channels and seals to our existing glass, I take it they are designed to just be pressed in dry, or should a sealant be used along with the lift seals?
