Questions and Answers
Dozer I Custom Front Bumpers! These bumpers are all steel with D-shackle mounts and various options available. They mount in original locations and have added structural reinforcements and cross-members. You can pull the boilers out of hell with these bumpers (not actually confirmed).
**NOTE: This Bumper is Made To Order, and can take approximately 12-16 weeks before shipping out. Contact us for current eta's.
86 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
I purchased this Dozer I front bumper with hitch and winch options for my 86 Jeep Wagoneer. Awesome! I also purchased a Cliffhanger rear bumper with hitch, rear tire swing arm with jack mount. I'm incredibly happy with these bumpers. I took these to a powder coat shop here in STL that has been open forever and the guy kept raving about how well built these bumpers were. He commented on how they used the best materials and the welds were clean and strong. He said more than once that he sees a lot of junk through his shop and whoever built these knew what they were doing. The front bumper brackets use existing holes and are very intuitive! The strength of the brackets and bumper greatly increase the integrity/safety of a front end collision over factory. The rear bumpers do not use any existing holes and require measuring, and drilling a lot of holes but is just as solid. Also posting a review on the Cliffhanger rear bumper. I preferred the look of the Dozer front bumper and Cliffhanger rear bumper and they look great together on my jeep!

Not a serviceable design
Though I really like this bumper, and for the most part it was very easy to install, and is as I expected. Except for one area. The design of the mounting plates on the bumper itself make it almost impossible to replace the bolts if the fail or need to be replaced. There is no clearance to insert a new bolt between the backside of bumper, and the flat mounting plate. In my particular experience I was not even able to insert the bolt from the other side, and slip the nut and lock washer between the mounting plate and back wall of the bumper. Taking a grinder to a freshly powder coated part is painful to say the least. I have to say was very temped to spend the $$ on a nutsert tool, and put 1/2' nutserts into the bumper backside wall. For this reason, I cannot give this product a rating higher than 3 starts.

Q:
I'm looking at the Dozer 1 or the "Super Slim" Crawler front bumper for an 82 J20. How far out from the front of the truck (measured from either the mount point or the sheet metal below the grille) does each one extend, when equipped with no winch or recovery points, but with a front receiver? The biggest need I have over stock is a bumper strong enough and with enough extent to push open the swinging "bump gates" on county roads around our land, but with as little excess length as possible. Thanks

A:
The super slim is about 8" from the body at the fattest part, and the dozer is about 6" at the fattest part. That is the outside body of the bumper, not including winch mount or recovery points.

Q:
I have the original front brush guard, can I run it with this bumper? I'd also like to extend the bumper away (4in or so) forward from the body.

A:
You would have to cut your stock brush guard and weld it to the Dozer, as its not made to accommodate the stock brush guard. As for spacing it out away from the truck, that would be considered a custom build item, and we would need you to email the items you wish to change and we can get a quote from our builder.

Q:
Will this fit a 1970 Jeep J2000?
Asked by:
Clayton
- 10/12/2016
A:
They will fit the 74 and later J-trucks, as prior to that (1963-1973) the front of the Jtruck had a post-mount suspension, where a large post was riveted to the side of the frame, and that is what the front leaf springs / etc connected to. The issue there is that the post mount blocks where the Dozer Front Bumper (and all of our front bumpers) would bolt to the frame. With that said, if you are creative and can weld / fabricate (or knows someone that can) we can build the bumper for you, and you'd have to find a way to attach it to the truck (the width and shape of the bumper is the same for all years, just the mounting is different).

Q:
The dozer front bumper...I didn't know the answer to some of the questions when I tried to order...all I know is I want it set up exactly the same as the one pictured, Warne winch (I don't know what "front mount" means), I do want the hitch receiver option, and I don't know what a wide track is sorry...I have an 83 Wagoneer if that helps?

If you click the little greyed-out Question Mark Symbols next to each pull-down menu, that opens a pop-up that explains what each item means.

That appears to be a bottom-mount winch, and should work just fine with our bumpers.

Q:
Good morning! Are there any pictures available of how this would mount on a 75 Wagoneer with no body lift? Are additional brackets required? Thanks!
Asked by:
Daniel
- 3/16/2023
A:
These are made to fit regular body mount (without body lift) but are available to be ordered to fit various body lifts per the pull-down menu. There are no additional brackets required. The pics we show online are all that we currently have.
