These Pro-Billet Ready-to-Run distributors from MSD are the perfect upgrade for weak OE electronic distributors, outdated points distributors and DuraSparks. All that is required is to install the distributor on your engine is three wires and the coil! A maintenance-free magnetic pickup accurately triggers this ignition with increased output from the amplifier, easily outperforming stock ignitions. It will smooth out the engine's idle, improve starting and perform at a much higher rpm. The housing is machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum, using state-of-the-art CNC mills and lathes for a housing with no porosity or weak areas. For stability and endurance, an oversized steel shaft spins in a top-mounted sealed ball bearing, while an extra-long sintered bushing guides the shaft at the base of the housing. This shaft also receives a QPQ coating for low friction wear and resistance against corrosion from humidity and ozone buildup. They feature MSD's adjustable mechanical advance, which allows you to custom-tailor an ignition curve to match your engine's needs. It is also available with a vacuum advance canister to help improve economy.

Q: Going to be putting a large order in a few weeks,what do I need if I run this distributor coil?wires? and what can I delete 87 g/w.

A: You will need new HEI wires, here:

The distributor includes a new built-in coil inside of the cap. You will also want to regap your spark plugs to around 0.045"

You can then get rid of the stock distributor, coil, ballast resistor and the ignition control module on the inside driver fenderwell.

Q: Is this model recommended over the 8519 model? Will this work with jeeps that have the strock Prestolite set-up?

A: This unit is recommended if you want a ready-to-run distributor and do not want to have a separate controller or ignition control module. This unit has a built-in ignition control module. This will work for all AMC V8's and vehicles listed

Q: Can this distributor be used with the Holley Sniper EFI System?

Q: Does this distributor require a coil? I noticed on one inquiry that you answered that there was a coil inside the distributor if not which coil is required? or will it work with the stock coil? Will this unit work ok with the Holley Sniper EFI system?
