To build the TORQ Locker, Torq-Masters Industries demands the highest quality control standards, protocol and materials. The TORQ Locker is CNC Machined from USA made 9310 steel alloy for maximum durability and long life using their proprietary manufacturing processes in an ISO 9001 certified facility in Rochester NY. Locker components are then heat treated with proprietary procedures in a TS16949 certified facility with 100 percent quality audits utilizing electron microscopy testing. Quality control of this caliber very rare in the Aftermarket Off-Road Industry, but Torq-Masters goes the extra mile to build the best, because you deserve the best.
While we make every effort to ensure that the model fitment listed is accurate, due to various differential options, it is the customers responsibility to confirm that the model TORQ Locker ordered will fit their differential. All TORQ Lockers are designed for installation in an open differential.
The TORQ Locker will always drive both tires, but allow for wheel speed differentiation when turning, through ratcheting. This means it will make a clicking sound when driven on the road for daily driving, but has the best on-road manners of any automatic locker. Spacers in all other lunchbox lockers can slide down the axle and bind on the cross pin, making the occasional 'bang' lunchbox lockers are known for. TORQ has no spacer and is quieter on the road.
Installation is VERY simple, and requires NO backlash or pre-load set up! MUCH easier than any other locker installation!!!
**NOTE: NOT recommended for full-time 4wd transfer cases. Recommended for cases that are 2wd in normal operation, or those that have been converted to part-time.
