Questions and Answers
Replace your old, broken or worn out wiper switch with these brand new replacements!
*Note: the replacement is for the short style. If yours has the +/- 3" long shaft, the replacement is much shorter and closer to the dash.
Q:
Will this work on earlier years, or is the plug different? (1978 Cherokee Chief S)
Asked by:
Tim
- 3/1/2016
A:
They are different and not interchangeable

Q:
I am needing a new windshield wiper switch. How do you tell if you have intermittent wipers or not?
Asked by:
Michael
- 7/20/2016
A:
The switch will either be non-intermittent, and will have three positions that are solid (off, low, high), or it will be intermittent, and will have three positions plus a sliding scale rotation (off, low, high, and in the other direction the switch will rotate for a while, as if you were turning a door knob). Another way to check is to look under the dash, and near the back of the switch will be a small square black box that is approximately 3" x 2" x 2" and will be plugged into the switch.

Q:
I have a 1980 Cherokee w/o intermittent wipers. con I just change the switch with this on and have intermittent wipers?
Asked by:
Paul Kerr
- 6/5/2016
A:
Yes and no. You would need to install this switch, but you would also have to find a wiper delay module (used) and install that between the factory plug and the new intermittent switch.

Q:
Hi I purchased this switch and works perfectly, thank you. do you happen to have the bezel and inside bezel nut that fit this? Mine are original with long shaft switch and the bezel nut is to large.
Asked by:
Gary Minor

A:
Not at this time, you'll have to source the bezel and nut used somewhere.

Q:
I have a 1979 Jeep Cherokee with intermittent wipers, as I have the pigtail that contains the module ( ~3x3" box), however in the stock photo provided the switch has a ground wire, which mine clearly does not. Is this a problem or just a stock photo idiosyncrasy? I also have the long shaft it appears, and I'm curious as the actual shaft dimensions on the "short" shaft that this is.
Asked by:
Ivan
- 6/16/2021
A:
The product does have a ground wire. It shouldn't be a problem though, just ground that wire. As for the long shaft, those are not being reproduced. The only ones we have are the short style.
