Questions and Answers
Don't try to repair your old burned up wiring harness, start fresh with one of our new universal wiring harnesses! The fuse block is pre-terminated so all you have to do is run the wires where you want them! These harnesses use GXL 125 high temp cross linked polyethylene jacketed wire that is grease, oil, gas, and acid resistant! Each wire is labeled every 5" on its entire length so checking a circuit is easy! This harness replaces the entire harness front to rear (you must reuse your original connectors or make your own).
Circuits include:
Headlight
Turn Signal
A/C and Heat
Electric Fan
Windshield Wiper
Gauges
Coil
Radio
Accessory
Brake
Hazard
Horn
Dome Light
Backup and Cruise
Cigarette Lighter
Fuel Pump
Power Windows
Power Door Locks
Highly recommend.
Great quality. Mounts in stock location.

Q:
Will this harness accomodate higher intensity headlights & foglights?
Asked by:
Rob
- 10/10/2016
A:
High intensity lights require additional relays / conversion harnesses, but this harness can still be used as the trigger (much like using the standard harness with a headlight relay kit).

Q:
Does this new system remove the ballist resistor from the old system?
Asked by:
Lonewolf4440
- 4/18/2017
A:
The ballast resistor only limits current through the coil, which extends the life of the coil and the breaker points in a stock distributor. You can remove it regardless of what harness you use (stock or our new harness). If you keep the stock distributor, then it can lead to faster wear of the points and coil. HEI's don't need a ballast resistor, so you can remove it if you upgrade as well.

Q:
Are there blank spaces in the fuse block where I could connect to get power (and fuses) for things like off road light circuits and such? I know the lights themselves will have to be run off a relay, but it would be nice to hook the switch for the relay up there so it’s protected by a fuse.
Asked by:
Sad06Commander
- 3/25/2019
A:
There are various places you can tie in, and most likely a couple circuits you won't use that could be re-purposed for other add-ons.

Q:
Does this kit include a new 2 piece through the firewall connector and, do any of the wires already have male / female terminals to populate into the firewall connector? If not, do you have a recommendation for where to buy new 1/4" male and female spade terminals?
Asked by:
Keith Ersfeld
- 11/11/2019
A:
No, this is a universal style with a single-block bulkhead. It mounts in the same spot as the original though.

Q:
I'd like to use this wiring harness for my 72 commando. Is the 21 circuit over kill? Eventually I'll be running a winch, various lights and possibly compressor/amp.
Asked by:
Mando
- 12/31/2019
A:
If you have power windows and door locks, the 21 circuit is what we recommend. Or, if you plan on adding other electric components (winch / lighting / larger sound system / etc) it will work great for that. Otherwise, if you have manual windows & door locks, and no plans for many future upgrades, the 12 circuit is better and has less wires you'd have to hide or remove.

Q:
I have a 1986 Grand Wagoneer and am in need of an engine harness. Would the 12 circuit or the 21 circuit kit work for this? Thanks, Chad
Asked by:
Chad Starbuck
- 4/15/2021
A:
This harness is a universal that does bumper to bumper. It's not an original-style harness for one specific area.
